I have just completed a PhD in Earth Sciences at JCU. A large part of my PhD focussed on High-resolution X-ray Computed Tomography data collected from small rock samples. I used OpenDX and Matlab to manipulate the data and calculate statistics. Prior to starting the PhD, I worked as a mine geologist. This gave me experience in data collection and management from a range of analogue and digital sources.
