Sun is the one of the leading suppliers of large scale computing grids used by researchers around the world.  The grids are based on AMD's high performance Opteron processors, the same systems that will comprise the 5th largest supercomputer in the world - a 40TFLOP, 1 PetaByte system at Titech, Japan.  In Queensland, large scale grids with more than 64 nodes are located at Griffith University, James Cook University and The University of Queensland.  The grids are being used for Bioscience, Nanoscience, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science.
